What is a Service of Process?

According to California Code of Civil Procedure Section 415.10

"A summons may be served by personal delivery of a copy of
the summons and of the complaint to the person to be served.  Service
of a summons in this manner is deemed complete at the time of such
delivery."

Why a Process Server?

According to California Law, a Person that is involved in any case may not serve any process. And to be safe, no person that knows a person involved in the service of process should not service the paperwork. That is why it is best to have a professional Process Server, who is a third party and completely objective serve the papers to avoid any legal ramification as your case progresses.

Are your Server Bonded and Registered?

Yes, all of our Servers are Registered with County, Bonded and Insured.

How do I get the service Started?

You can call our numbers, you can fax us the documents, mail them or we can pick them up in person

What if you can’t reach the Person being Served?

According to California Code of Civil Procedure 415.20-415.30 (In most Cases) a Substitute Service is allowed. This happens when it becomes difficult to locate the the Person to be Served. They may be served at home, at work or in another location where you know they will be.  In most cases people can be reached at home or work, there are extenuating circumstances where our Servers need to meet the Servee where we know they will be.

Do you Serve at Jails/Prisons?

Yes, we do Serve at Jails and Prisons- In fact, Serving a Prison is surprisingly simple, and there is no additional charge for serving at Prisons

I have two separate suits to serve at the same address, do you charge double?

No, we do not feel it is necessary for excessive costs- It is only $15 for each additional documents served at the same address.

How does the Court know that the Documents have been served?

The majority of our cases require a Form POS-010. Although other civil cases may require a different Proof of Service may have a special Proof of Service form.

Is there a Cost for the Proof of Service form?

No, it is a part of the Service Fee

How many attempts do I get per serve?

At Jurat Legal Solutions, we offer unlimited attempts

What if you can’t get a hold of Servee?

Sometimes people are extremely difficult to get ahold of. We will make about 3 attempts at home, then attempt to Serve them at work. In most cases this is sufficient- However if we are still having problems, we suggest a Stakeout where one of our Servers lays in wait to Serve the Servee to get the wheels of Justice in motion.
